Abstract
This entry explores the role of dynamic capabilities in mediating the success of open social innovation projects within the European renewable energy industry. Social entrepreneurship drives community-based energy initiatives, fostering sustainability and local engagement. Open innovation enables social entrepreneurs to collaborate with diverse stakeholders in co-creating sustainable solutions. Yet, regulatory and financial obstacles limit the scalability of these projects. By leveraging dynamic capabilities, social entrepreneurs can sense, seize, and reconfigure resources to overcome such challenges. This entry offers actionable recommendations for enhancing dynamic capabilities, advocating for an ecosystem that supports the democratization of equitable energy solutions while addressing global challenges.
